Frozen Food Specialist opening store in Roscommon Retail Park

Food retailer Iceland will open the doors to its newest Irish store in Roscommon Retail Park, Circular Road on Tuesday, 14th August. The store will bring 20 new jobs to Roscommon and is the first store in the county for the retailer, who announced earlier this year that by the end of 2023, all own brand products will be plastic free.

The new store brings 11,500 sq. ft. of fantastic quality and value in fresh, frozen and ambient grocery products from leading Irish and international brands, with everything under one roof to make the weekly shop even easier. Iceland is home to over 2,000 branded fresh and frozen grocery products and is a proud supporter of the Irish food industry, stocking over 500 products from over 30 Irish suppliers, all at great prices. In addition, Iceland is the exclusive stockist of the hugely popular Slimming World range in Ireland of which there are currently 40 products, with new lines being added in September.

Ron Metcalfe, Managing Director of Iceland Ireland commented, “I’m delighted to welcome another store to the Iceland family in Ireland. Roscommon is our 24th store to date so it’s an exciting time for the business as we continue with our expansion nationwide. Iceland is proud to work with Irish suppliers and we’re excited to bring that great quality product and fantastic value to Roscommon.

Candice Lee, Iceland Roscommon Store Manager said, “I have worked with Iceland for the last 18 months and am delighted to now be appointed as manager for the new Roscommon store. I’m looking forward to bringing the Power of Frozen to Roscommon and meeting all of our new customers here in the coming days and weeks.”

Iceland recently announced it would be the first supermarket retailer to remove palm oil from own label food with a total of 130 products being reformulated by the end of 2018, including the newest Mumbai street food selection.

Don’t forget to pick up a bonus card! Customers of the Roscommon store can sign up for the Iceland Bonus Card. This is Iceland’s savings card that rewards customers with €1 free for every €30 saved on to the card. Cardholders can spend this in any Iceland store whenever they choose.
