Stocked Festival

The Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund (IGBF) has today announced an exciting music and food festival supporting the work of the Fund to take place this September at Orlagh House, Rathfarnham, Dublin.

Taking place on Thursday, 12th September – Stocked Festival will be a celebration of the grocery industry, where guests can meet, network and socialise in a carnival atmosphere full of live music, comedy and street performance combined with amazing food and drinks from Ireland’s greatest producers.

The IGBF is a registered charity that provides financial assistance for people in the retail and grocer sectors who have fallen on difficult times because of ill health, unemployment or bereavement. Several of Ireland’s top retailers and retail brands including National Lottery, Centra, Circle K, Maxol, SuperValu and Tesco have joined forces as supporters of the new and innovative fundraiser.

With an impressive line-up confirmed so far with headliner Gavin James alongside a host of top Irish acts across several stages. Joining them will be some of Ireland’s best comedic talent and performers including Deirdre O’Kane, Karl Spain and Eric Lalor. This event is an exciting new way to raise funds for the IGBF and give back to the grocery industry.

IGBF chairman, Leonard Hegarty, said “We’re really looking forward to bringing something new to the trade this year; but continuing with the goal of all our events - to raise the funds necessary to support the individuals and families who need us.”

This year’s President of Appeals, Kari Daniel, Tesco Ireland, stated, “I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring a brand new and very different event to the grocery industry calendar to raise funds to support the IGBF.  Stocked Festival is set to bring together music, food and comedy while celebrating the best of the grocery industry. I look forward to it raising much needed funds to continue to support the families and individuals who need the IGBF’s help.”

Early bird ticket offers are in demand and available until 31st July, and these bundles serve as a great option for a staff rewards programme.  There’s also still a small number of sponsorship opportunities available – with opportunities for the food and grocery industry to showcase the latest brand and product innovations.

Historically, the IGBF has been supported by fundraising by the leading companies in the retail, wholesale, food and drink and services industries. In 2018, the IGBF distributed over €480,000 in grants to people in need and currently assists 250 families monthly.
