Nestlé Ireland achieves Investors in Diversity Gold Accreditation

Posted on: 25 Mar 2021

Nestlé Ireland has been awarded the prestigious Investors in Diversity Gold Accreditation from the Irish Centre for Diversity, in recognition of its commitment to embed diversity and inclusion within the culture and processes across the organisation and its external impacts. Nestlé becomes only the second organisation in Ireland to achieve the Gold standard of accreditation; it previously held Silver Accreditation.

Kieran Conroy, Country Manager at Nestlé Ireland, says “The team at Nestlé Ireland is honoured to have achieved the Gold Accreditation, which is a testament to our commitment to ‘walk the talk’ when it comes to diversity and inclusion.

“Diversity and inclusion is an integral part of Nestlé’s global culture, and one of the ways we bring our company’s purpose and values to life in Ireland. We embed diversity and inclusion across everything we do in the business where we focus on three core areas: culture, innovation and society. This involves building an inclusive culture that values the different talents and experiences of our employees, innovating to serve the needs of our consumers and customers and engaging with society in the diverse markets where we operate.

“In practical terms this starts with our recruiting where we look for competent people who not only can do the job but respect our values and individual diversity of colleagues.  We embed equal opportunities for their development and advancement in our business. This award is a recognition of the commitment of every member of the Nestlé Ireland team to embed the highest standards of Diversity and Inclusion at the heart of all our work.”

Caroline Tyler, Founder and Country Director for Irish Centre for Diversity says,  “By embarking on the Investors in Diversity Gold journey, an organisation states its commitment to a culture that is diverse and inclusive; achieving the award shows that this commitment has been acted upon, with an organisation demonstrating this in tangible and measurable ways, in the things it does and the things it says.

“Nestlé Ireland and its leadership are to be congratulated for becoming only the second organisation in Ireland to achieve the Gold standard. By doing so they have demonstrated they have leaders that support the Diversity and Inclusion agenda in a practical way, including providing the appropriate resources and leading by example, as well as staff who feel that they are treated fairly, with respect and are valued for their differences.”

Nestlé Ireland is further highlighting its commitment to diversity and inclusion with sponsorship of the upcoming Inclusion Works Conference (www.inclusionworks.ie). Ireland’s premier diversity and inclusion event will take place online on Thursday 15 April 2021. Andrew Burke-Hannon, the Operation Transformation leader, founding member of Nestlé’s LGBT+ Network and a member of the Inclusion and Belonging committee at Nestlé Ireland will be speaking at the conference.  Andrew will be covering how to build a sustainable culture of inclusion, and sharing ideas and strategies Nestlé Ireland has put in place to help drive progress.
