A popular supermarket on the outskirts of Waterford City has been announced as the location where a EuroMillions ticket worth more than €1 million was sold from a draw last Friday (20th August).

The National Lottery has announced that the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ winner bought their ticket at the Tesco store in Ardkeen Village. The lucky Quick Pick ticket was sold on Thursday 19th August.

This win is one of two ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ prizes of an additional €1 million which were won in last Friday’s EuroMillions draw. The other million euro prize was won by an online player in Dublin.

The two ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ winning raffle codes in Friday EuroMillions draw, which are both worth €1,005,000 (One Million and Five Thousand Euro) are as follows:

• I-LLV-87429 (Tesco, Ardkeen, Co. Waterford)

• I-LLV-10793 (Dublin, Online – www.lottery.ie)

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We are calling on our EuroMillions players, particularly those who may have purchased their ticket at the Tesco store in Ardkeen, Co. Waterford to check their tickets very carefully, being sure to check their numbers and raffle codes. If you are the lucky ticketholder from Waterford, we ask you to sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize.”

Meanwhile, Lotto fever continues to grow after Saturday night’s €11.3 million did not have a winner which means that next Wednesday’s jackpot is heading for an estimated €12 million. The jackpot has been rolling since Wednesday 9th June and the next winner will become the 6th winner of the Lotto jackpot in 2021. The largest Lotto winners of 2021 were a Kilkenny family who won a €12.7 million windfall in April.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2020 alone, €254 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
