An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, has helped one of Ireland’s youngest fundraisers Lucy Greene get ready for Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice Together with Bewley’s taking place this Thursday. In its 26th year, Irelands’ Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice Together with Bewley’s will aim to raise a much needed €2 million for local hospice and homecare services nationwide to meet with growing demands for the service.

Along with An Taoiseach, some of Ireland’s most famous faces including Brendan Gleeson, Boyzone stars Keith Duffy and Ronan Keating, rugby legend Shane Byrne, comedian Mario Rosenstock, Westlife star Markus Feehily and Corona’s Frontman Danny O’Reilly are asking people nationwide to support this important campaign by attending one of the hundreds of coffee mornings that are taking place across the country this Thursday. One of the biggest coffee mornings will be taking place in the iconic Dublin location, Bewley’s Grafton Street where the proceeds of every coffee sold between 7.30am-12pm will be donated to Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice. Those that can’t attend a coffee morning can simply text COFFEE to 50300 and donate €4* to support local hospice and homecare services and help to give patients the best quality of life during their illness.

Pat Quinlan, Chair of the Voluntary Hospice Group said, “The demands on hospice and homecare services around Ireland are growing each year. The money raised through Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice Together with Bewley’s is crucial in ensuring that we continue meet patients’ needs and support families. The success of the campaign over the last 26 years is thanks to the incredible supporters; our coffee morning hosts, guests, Ambassadors and our sponsor Bewley’s.”

Fergal McGarry, Bewley’s COO said “Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice Together with Bewley’s is one of Ireland’s longest running charity campaigns which has raised over €35 million for local hospice and homecare services around the country over the last 26 years. As a proud supporter of the campaign each year we are looking forward to another great day this Thursday. Bewley’s is a family business and community is at the heart of all we do, each year we see the importance of hospice and homecare services around Ireland and the real and meaningful difference the money raised makes to communities locally. That’s why we’re asking everyone to join together with a cup of Bewley’s coffee on Thursday 20th September and support your local hospice and homecare service.”
