Following a market-leading increase in base pay implemented earlier this year, ALDI Ireland has announced a further pay increase for the store's store and warehouse colleagues.
ALDI has been a leader on pay in the retail sector for many years and this latest pay increase means wages at ALDI have increased by between 25% to 28% over the last five years, ahead of inflation at 24.3%*.
This year alone pay has increased by more than 3%, bringing the business's investment in staff pay and benefits to more than €6 million, including additional pension auto-enrolment contributions.
From 1st July 2026, Store Assistants, Selectors / Maintenance Assistants, and QC Assistants will start on a market-leading rate of €15.40 per hour, rising to €16.20, €16.90, and €17.90 per additional year of service. This represents a further increase of 1.2%, 1.0%, and 0.8% respectively.
Likewise, year one Store Deputies will begin on €16.15 per hour, rising to €16.95, €17.65, and €18.65 per additional year, a similar increase of 1.1%, 1.0%, and 0.8% respectively.
ALDI has 166 stores across Ireland with a dedicated team of more than 4,800 colleagues. It has been a market leader on pay for many years, at a minimum meeting or exceeding the Living Wage as calculated by the Living Wage Technical Group (LWTG), for eight years in succession.
