Posted on: 12 Mar 2026

ALDI’s Tallaght Cross “Project Fresh” store has reopened its doors to customers today following an extensive renovation project investment of over €1M which has seen the store interior completely refurbished.

Store Layout

The updated Tallaght Cross store now features a new layout to include a wide selection of fresh food at the front of the store and hi-spec fixtures and fittings throughout that provide an effortless shopping experience. The customer-focused layout showcases the products customers know and love, allowing them to shop with ease whilst browsing new ranges.

The new Project Fresh layout also introduced exciting new units in-store such as a fresh herb stand, a dedicated bread and cake fixture, as well as a Health and Beauty feature.

ALDI has also begun the installation of instore bakeries at selected stores, including the updated Tallaght Cross store, with a full range of Irish-baked breads and pastries delivered daily.

Environmentally Powered Store

ALDI has invested heavily in improving its energy management systems, and its entire store network is now powered by 100% wind generated energy. The retailer has achieved ISO 50001 accreditation in recognition of its efforts to improve energy efficiency. The renovated Tallaght Cross store has also received a CO2 upgrade, meaning there will be more environmentally friendly refrigerants in store.

Community Supports

ALDI’s Tallaght Cross store is deeply rooted in the local community and participates in ALDI’s national partnership with FoodCloud, donating surplus food to local charities on a daily basis. To date, ALDI’s Dublin stores have donated almost 764,000 meals through FoodCloud, equating to over 1 million kgs of CO2 emissions avoided. ALDI’s Tallaght Cross store is also part of ALDI’s Community Grants network, with Irish Sepsis Foundation and LauraLynn some of the local charities that have benefitted from the program in recent years.

Speaking at the reopening, Jonathan Graham, ALDI Tallaght Cross Store Manager said: “The Project Fresh revamp of our store is fantastic news for our local customers. The new spacious design makes for a very enjoyable shop, allowing customers to shop with ease. We are also thrilled with the addition of a brand-new bakery. In this current environment, it is more important than ever that customers can always avail of great value products at unbeatable prices here in ALDI.”

Operating 27 stores across County Dublin, ALDI has become an established part of the Dublin retail landscape, proving very popular with shoppers for bringing greater competition, choice, and value for money.
