Walk for your wellbeing this World Mental Health Day with AVOCA and Walk in My Shoes with free admission to Mount Usher Gardens
AVOCA to launch four charity Christmas products, with all proceeds being donated directly to Walk in My Shoes
AVOCA have partnered with the Walk in My Shoes (WIMS) campaign, the flagship awareness-raising campaign of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services in order to mark the significance and raise awareness of World Mental Health Day taking place on 10th October 2021. This amazing Irish charity aims to promote positive mental health, tackle mental health stigma and work to change how people think about mental health.
For this year’s World Mental Health Day, new WIMS brand ambassador and ultramarathon runner, Conor O’Keeffe will be encouraging everyone, no matter where they are in the country to slip on their favourite walking shoes and get out into the fresh air and walk for their wellbeing.
To mark this day, AVOCA are offering free admissions all day to their magnificent gardens at AVOCA Mount Usher. During this day, you are encouraged to pull out your favourite pair of walking shoes and take a stroll through the gardens in honour of World Mental Health Day and Walk in My Shoes.
To further promote well-being, mindfulness and positive mental health, AVOCA will be offering a wonderful virtual yoga class taking place and hosted by AVOCA’s very own Rachel Lenny of Earth and Purpose Yoga on their IGTV on October 9th. The Slow Flow yoga class will be led from the stunning surrounds of Mount Usher Gardens. The perfect opportunity to breathe, stretch, relax and connect within. This class is completely accessible for all levels.
AVOCA's commitment to supporting the charity for the second-year running has led their team of crafters to design and bring to life four new products launching just in time for Christmas – two beautifully in-house crafted candles, a bespoke print in collaboration with Irish luxury lifestyle brand, Dusty Boy Designs and a stunning selection of charity Christmas cards, with 100% of all proceeds going directly to the charity.
Maoliosa Connell, Director of Marketing, Creative and Buying at AVOCA, says: “We are thrilled and honored to be given the opportunity to partner with the Walk in My Shoes campaign initiative again this year. We truly believe that it is so important to support and promote positive mental health and wellbeing, especially after the most challenging 18 months in a pandemic. This year, we are very proud to be launching four meaningful gifts for Christmas, with all proceeds being donated directly to the charity. It is a privilege to be able to raise funds to aid the awareness-raising and education across Ireland surrounding this topic.”
These exclusive products, designed and made in AVOCA’s Wicklow Studio will be launching in store and online at www.avoca.com in the coming weeks.
