Discount retailer, Dealz is once again supporting Team Hope as a retail partner for its annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
Together Team Hope and Dealz are calling on friends, family, schools and communities to donate gift-filled shoeboxes to children affected by poverty across Eastern Europe and Africa.
The themes for this year’s appeal are #MakeAChildSmile and #EveryShoeboxCounts. The Appeal aims to encourage people to think about the single impact, joy and smiles that a shoebox brings every child who receives it.
The partnership is now in its fifth year and will see over 70 Dealz stores across the country act as drop-off location for shoebox donations. In 2020, Dealz colleagues and customers helped raise an incredible €11,464.
This year, Team Hope is aiming to send 200,000 gift filled shoeboxes to children facing poverty in 13 countries across Eastern Europe and Africa.
The 2022 appeal has already got off to a flying start with international rugby player, Devin Toner showing his support to the campaign. Devin picked up some great products at his local Dealz store and along with his son, packed up an amazing shoebox filled with essentials and goodies.
Dealz Country Manager, Sharon Sheridan said the discount retailer had no hesitation in once again supporting the appeal and is proud to be supporting such a worthy cause.

It has never been easier to build a shoebox. All you have to do is find an empty shoebox, wrap it in Christmas paper and fill it with gifts for a boy or girl aged between 2 and 14, give online or attach a €4 donation and bring it to a local drop off point before the deadline of Tuesday, November 8th – or you can build-a-box online by donating at www.teamhope.ie.

Wash – Comb, Soap, Sponge, Toothbrush & Toothpaste, Washcloth

Wow – Fun Trinkets, Musical Toys, Puzzles, Soft toy, Ball, fun Sunglasses
Every shoebox and online donation will allow Team Hope to deliver your shoebox with love and care directly into the hands of a child affected by poverty in countries across Eastern Europe and Africa.
Team Hope’s aim in 2022 is to deliver as many shoeboxes as possible to children in Romania, Transnistria (Moldova), Ukraine, Kosova, Albania, Burundi, Democratic Republic Congo, Lesotho, eSwatini (Swaziland), Malawi, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Rwanda as every shoebox counts.
