EUROSPAR Hartstown has taken a bold step forward in its sustainability journey with the unveiling of Ireland’s first Envipco QUANTUM reverse vending machine. This state-of-the-art technology is designed to transform the recycling experience for the local community, offering a fast, hygienic, and user-friendly way to return beverage containers.
The QUANTUM machine, designed for high-volume environments such as supermarkets and recycling centres, can process up to 120 containers per minute through a continuous bulk-feed system. With industrial-sized collection bins and advanced compaction technology, it is the first of its kind in operation in Ireland and delivers unmatched efficiency and convenience.

EUROSPAR Hartstown’s sustainability credentials also include energy efficient lighting across the supermarket, along with a comprehensive infrastructure optimisation initiative aimed at identifying energy efficiency opportunities across all aspects or retailing, including heating limiters, timed lighting, and regular technology maintenance.
Solar panel installations and an expansive refrigeration infrastructure are also in place to reduce energy consumption and its carbon footprint.
