The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) presents ‘Breakfast Bites’ a series of free, informal online webinars designed for small food businesses. The next webinar will focus on the FSAI’s updated Guide to Food Safety Skills and will remind food businesses of how they can comply with food safety training requirements.
‘Food Safety Skills Training’ will be held online on Thursday, 4th September from 10am-10:45am.
In this short webinar, Ruth Conefrey (Training and Compliance Manager, FSAI), and Diane Fox (Technical Executive, FSAI) will present the FSAI’s newly updated Guide to Food Safety Skills and outline the skills required of food handlers based on their roles. Participants will learn how to use the guide, along with other FSAI resources, to ensure they meet their food safety training requirements.
Ruth and Diane will also discuss the FSAI’s new eLearning module on Food Safety Skills Training, and how businesses can use it to enhance their training programmes and keep their staff up to date.
The webinar is free of charge, and you can register and learn more at this link.
Greg Dempsey, Chief Executive, FSAI, emphasised the importance of investing in staff training:
“Food handlers play a central role in protecting consumers and maintaining trust in our food system. Having the right knowledge and skills is not just a regulatory requirement, it is essential for building and maintaining a strong food safety culture. The updated Guide to Food Safety Skills and our new eLearning module provide practical, accessible tools to help food businesses meet their responsibilities. We encourage all food business operators to take full advantage of these free resources to support their teams and safeguard the food they produce,” said Mr Dempsey.
