Gallaghers Bakehouse has teamed up with Donegal legend, Daniel O’Donnell, to celebrate the nationwide launch of their new range of uniquely handcrafted sourdough everyday breads and to introduce their new campaign, Bread Made Better, The Secret is Out.
Gallaghers Bakehouse has been baking delicious fresh bread since 1968 in the picturesque village of Ardara, Co Donegal. They are now introducing a new range which is set to transform the category. Built on a growing trend towards sourdough and meeting the consumer demand for healthier and tastier choices, the new range perfected by Gallaghers expert bakers includes sourdough that is fermented for 12 hours and baked slowly to deliver a unique bread which not only maintains shape and bounce but tastes superb. The result is simply bread made better and is set to change the way consumers think about bread. The new range is widely available in select Tesco, Dunnes Stores, Supervalu, Spar and Centra stores across the country.
Using only the simplest ingredients and time, the innovative range includes products packed full of health benefits including high fibre, low sugar, good gut health, digestive, and vitamin boosts. Included in the expansive offering are a selection of Loaves, Bloomers, Soda Bread, Baps, Buns, and a Healthy Range too. The 400g range of standard loaves (white, wholemeal, multigrain) have an RRP of €1.79 whilst the 720g range has an RRP from €2.15 to €2.75.
Greta Hammel, Chief Marketing Officer for Gallaghers Bakehouse said: “We are really proud of this exciting new range from Gallaghers Bakehouse and delighted that people across the country can now enjoy a healthier and tastier bread choice. Throughout lockdown we saw a growing trend towards sourdough, and with this new range we are ensuring that consumers can now enjoy the taste and benefit of sourdough breads every day. We feel that this range can be a significant disruptor to what we believe to be a quite stagnant category with little innovation. We’re thrilled to partner with Donegal legend Daniel O’Donnell to celebrate this next step in our growth.”
To support the campaign, Gallaghers Bakehouse has revealed a new ad featuring Daniel O’Donnell uncovering Donegal’s best kept secret. In a light-hearted video, Daniel is seen chatting with locals, all of whom are desperate to hide the secret. In the end though, Daniel wins out and reveals that the handcrafted Sourdough of Gallaghers Bakehouse is indeed one of Donegal’s best kept secrets. The new campaign will run across radio, digital, OOH and print, throughout October and November in Ireland.
Speaking about the campaign, Daniel O’Donnell said: “I’m delighted to be working with Gallaghers Bakehouse to launch their exciting new range and nationwide campaign, Bread Made Better, The Secret is Out.
