Howell’s SuperValu Lusk has launched its new look, state-of-the-art store following a significant investment of €1.6 million. SuperValu Lusk currently employs 46 people. The store revamp and enhanced in-store offerings have created 10 additional roles, expanding the workforce and bringing the total number of jobs supported at SuperValu Lusk to 46 employees.
The new look SuperValu, which launched last week, will enhance the shopper experience and will now offer freshly baked bread from their in-store bakery, new grab-and-go food options from the deli, and additional ranges like the Bare Pantry, Clonakilty Gluten Free Kitchen, and The Happy Pear. The store will also offer an extended range of eco-friendly products, and new and exciting Italian pasta, meats and sauces. Shoppers can also look forward to SuperValu's Signature Tastes range and expanded Own Brand range, providing even more high-quality and value-for-money options.
Supporting local is of key importance to the team in SuperValu Lusk and customers will be able to try out products from local producers in the Taste of Local area in store including Garnacha and Sussed Nutrition.
Sustainability has been a central focus as SuperValu carried out revamp works, with the team going to extensive lengths to be as environmentally conscious as possible in designing the new look store. Energy efficient refrigeration and LED lighting are within the store’s innovative design. It is expected that measures will lead to a 10% reduction in energy consumption across the premises.
Commenting on the launch of the new store, David Howell, store owner said: “We are delighted to be opening our new look store after significant investment and hard work from the team. The new state-of-the-art store will deliver premium, quality and fantastic value to our customers through offerings including our new look Bakery, Food-to-Go and Fresh Meat Counter with our Expert Butchers, as well as fantastic local products in our Taste of Local section. We believe in enhancing local communities by caring for our environment, so we are particularly proud of the dedicated eco-friendly technologies throughout the new store. We are extremely grateful to all our loyal customers who continue to support us in the local community and look forward to seeing them in store again soon.”
Howell’s SuperValu has been a longstanding supporter of the Lusk community for 20 years, having opened its doors in 2005. The store has supported many local charities and teams including the Round Towers GAA, Lusk Athletic Club and the SuperValu TidyTowns committee.
