Lidl Ireland has opened the doors to its newly developed Ballyfermot store following a brief closure to facilitate works, transforming the store, and offering a premium shopping experience with updated facilities to customers.
The new and improved Lidl store provides customers with an enhanced shopping experience, with high ceilings, wider aisles, new self-service checkouts, two Deposit Return Scheme machines, and a larger in-store bakery and premium wine selection.
As part of the opening, Dublin Ladies Gaelic Footballer Éilish O’Dowd joined the Dublin Ballyfermot store team to officially cut the ribbon on the newly refurbished store. In addition, the first ten excited customers were given vouchers to spend on their shop and were able to avail of exclusive offers to celebrate the opening.
A family fun day also greeted customers on the opening day to get involved with face painting, entertainment, a play area, music, and more. Local Lidl suppliers Panelto Foods and Liffey Meats were on hand to provide samples of some of the retailers award-winning products to shoppers.
Advancing Lidl Ireland’s community-focused objectives, and to mark the re-opening, the employees at Lidl’s Ballyfermot store have donated €1,000 in Lidl vouchers to the Ballyfermot Family Resource Centre, who aim to promote and enhance the person, social, education and economic development for individuals who interact and collaborate with the resource centre.

Commenting at the store opening Dublin LGFA player Éilish O’Dowd added:
It was a privilege to cut the ribbon on the redeveloped Lidl Ballyfermot store today after what has been an incredible transformation of the store. It’s amazing to see how the space has been remodeled to incorporate new features and provide a better layout for shoppers. There was a great turnout this morning and I’m sure shoppers will agree the changes that the store has undergone in just a couple of months are fantastic. It’s been a great boost to the area and it’s great to see Lidl continuing to invest in the Dublin region.”
Lidl Ireland currently employs more than 6,000 employees in its 186 stores, Head Office in Tallaght and three distribution centres and regional offices based in Charleville, Mullingar, and Newbridge.

Lidl’s Dublin Ballyfermot store will open daily: Monday – Saturday 8:00am – 10:00pm and Sunday 9:00am – 9:00pm
