Lucy Kennedy Sends Love to Her ‘Living With Lucy’ Family as An Post encourages early Christmas posting

Posted on: 25 Nov 2025

Television and radio presenter Lucy Kennedy gets festive as she cosies up to send love early this Christmas with An Post. Writing cards to some of the “housemates” she has lived with over the years, as well as to her family and friends, Lucy also highlights An Post’s initiative of free postage to nursing homes.

As we all begin to wind down and reflect on the year that was, Lucy, who is an avid Christmas card sender, is encouraging people to take a moment to connect with each other this Christmas, reminding us that even the smallest gesture can make someone’s season feel brighter.

Handwritten Christmas cards sent through the post continue to be a simple yet thoughtful way for people to show friends and family that they are thinking about them. Receiving a Christmas card in the post can mean so much to those who have experienced loss or to those we’ve lost connection with. A card offers something a text simply cannot match, and it allows people to reach out in a simple but powerful and personal way at this special time of year.

Lucy Kennedy comments,

“I’ve always been a Christmas card sender, and I love the tradition of it all. Sending a card is such a lovely, pressure-free way to say, ‘At this special time of year, you are in my thoughts’. It’s just a bit of festive warmth arriving in the post.

I start with my card list – then move onto the choice of card, as the card needs to match the recipient! As cards start arriving at our house, there isn’t a sideboard or a table that doesn’t have a card or two from around the world on it. And I love the fact that those people have thought of me and my family at this festive season.”

To make sending even easier this Christmas, An Post has unveiled its best-ever discounts on Christmas stamp booklets:

  • A booklet of 15 national stamps for posting within the island of Ireland is priced at €20, a saving of €4.75.
  • The 5-stamp pack for posting cards anywhere in the world costs €13.25, and customers can save €8 by purchasing both booklets together for just €30.00 at all post offices and online at anpost.com/Christmas.
  • A pack of 15 Christmas cards from Irish designer Hephee may be purchased for €10 with every 15-stamp booklet.
  • Discounts are also available on Digital Stamps this Christmas, with a bundle of 15 discounted to €27.75 - a saving of €5.55 through the An Post app.

An Post’s Julie Gill adds,

“We want to make sending Christmas cards as easy and affordable as possible this year. That’s why we’re offering our best-ever discounts on stamp booklets, Christmas cards and Digital Stamps. Whether your cards are going across the country or across the world, we’re encouraging everyone to Shop Early, Write Early and Post Early so your messages of love and connection arrive in plenty of time.

Getting organised early means having time to enjoy the great Irish tradition of settling down to write cards to family and friends, reflecting on the past year and what we wish for our loved ones in 2026.”

An Post has unveiled the 2025 Christmas Stamps, a blaze of cheerful geometric designs featuring a Christmas Pudding, a reindeer, the Three Wise Men, a church, an angel and a Christmas tree, from Irish designers Unthink.
