Lyons Tea Reignites Iconic “Puts the Talk Into Tea” Tagline with Powerful New Campaign

Lyons Tea, one of Ireland’s most beloved household brands, today proudly unveils its bold new campaign: “Puts the Talk Into Tea.” This warm, timely initiative is a nationwide call to bring back real, face-to-face conversation—one cup at a time. The campaign features a newly developed TV ad and creative assets that will roll out as part of a fully integrated marketing effort across Ireland in the weeks ahead.

 

Ireland is world-renowned for its wit, warmth, and conversation. But in an always-on world, face-to-face conversation can sometimes get lost. Lyons is responding to a cultural truth: we’re talking more than ever, but connecting less. Rooted in this insight, the campaign positions Lyons as a gentle nudge to make time for proper chats—big, small, and everything in between.

 

At the heart of the campaign is a new TV ad capturing a range of classic Irish moments where talk flows: gossip, big news, emotional revelations, and humorous misunderstandings. Each one begins the same way, with the kettle going on.

 

Developed in partnership with creative agency Bold Studios, the campaign will span TV, out-of-home (OOH), digital, social media, and in-store activations, ensuring the message meets people wherever they are, whenever they’re ready to talk.

She continued:

“In today’s fast-paced, digitally distracted world, Lyons believes genuine connection is more important than ever—the kind that happens when the kettle’s on, the mugs are out, and two people finally have a proper chat.”

 

Speaking on the new campaign,  Caomhán Connolly, Executive Creative Director at Bold, said:

So when the moment came to mark a new chapter, our instinct was to start over - to create something bold and new. With Lyons at the heart of countless conversations across generations, the brand reaffirms its place not just in Irish kitchens, but in the everyday relationships and culture of the nation.
