Tesco Ireland creates 12 jobs with opening of new Coopers Cross store in Dublin 1

Posted on: 27 Feb 2026

Tesco Ireland has opened a new store in the Coopers Cross development of the North Docklands, Dublin 1, creating 12 jobs. The Express store will be a great addition to the locality offering customers a modern retail experience and access to great quality fresh local and Irish produce.

Local suppliers Freshways, Manning’s Bakery and Keoghs crisps are just some of the great local producers who will be found on the shelves in Coopers Cross.

The store will be open from 7am to 10pm, and customers in the area can also take advantage of Whoosh, our rapid delivery service that brings fresh food and essentials to your door within 45 minutes.

The store has also been fitted with several energy-saving measures, such as doors on fridges, which will help reduce energy consumption, as well as a DRS machine.

The new store was officially opened by store manager, Lar Mooney who with 20 years’ experience has managed several Dublin stores including Spencer Dock, Baggot St and Bancroft Tallaght. Lar will lead a team of 12 colleagues. At the opening he said: “This is a big moment for all the team. We are looking forward to welcoming our new customers, and we cannot wait to actively engage with the community. Through the Community Fund, we are pleased to be able to support local groups and projects over the coming months.”

Tesco is a proud supporter of the communities it serves. To date its Community Fund has helped support thousands of organisations across the country from GAA clubs to children’s charities. In its first campaign, the Coopers Cross store will support the locality with donations to three local causes including Sheriff Youth Club, St. Laurence O'Toole National School, and Sheriff Street Running Club.

Through the food surplus redistribution programme, FoodCloud partners and OLIO Food Waste Heroes will be on hand to ensure no good food goes to waste. The Coopers Cross team will also join Tesco’s continued efforts to support its charity partner, Children’s Health Foundation which supports all sick children in CHI at Crumlin, Connolly, Temple St, and Tallaght hospitals.
