Tesco Ireland demonstrates its passion for food by unveiling new food platform and ambassadors

Posted on: 23 Sep 2025

Tesco Ireland has launched a major new food platform It’s not a little thing. It’s everything. With three food ambassadors joining to bring it to life - chef Marcus O’Laoire, chef and entrepreneur Eunice Power and Dr Aisling Farrell.

Food has always been at the heart of Tesco Ireland, but the new platform marks a bold new direction, demonstrating the retailer’s passion for great food and celebrating food not just as quality products, but as experiences that bring people together. It reflects the role and significance food plays in everyday life - from the vibrant flavour waiting in a tomato, to the hidden ‘I love you’ in a steak, to the comfort of a crispy cheese lasagna.

Tesco wants to help customers to unlock the true power of food in its broadest sense by showcasing how great food nourishes, brings people together and helps them to experience new cultures and ways of life, and much more.

The collaboration with the ‘Tesco foodies’ will see the three ambassadors create engaging, helpful and inspirational content for customers whilst also working behind the scenes with the Tesco team to ensure the retailer is putting a passion for food at the heart of all of its product decisions.

A brand-new Tesco Kitchen studio has been built where all social media content will be produced, acting as the ‘Tesco Foodies HQ’. Tesco will also sponsor events and initiatives that speak directly to its passion for food and its power in our lives.

Introduction to the Tesco food ambassadors:

  • Marcus O’Laoire is a professional chef and foodie content creator who will offer Tesco customers a fresh perspective on food culture and consumer trends in Ireland.
  • Eunice Power is a renowned chef, author and a dynamic entrepreneur. She will bring to life her passion for Irish provenance, seasonality and quality ingredients and how that’s reflected in Tesco.
  • Dr Aisling Farrell is a dedicated General Practitioner and Lifestyle Medicine Physician with a passion for using food and lifestyle as medicine. Dr Aisling will provide Tesco customers with practical advice on health and wellbeing.

Speaking about the new platform, Tesco Ireland Customer Director, Suzanne Quinn, said “With It’s not a little thing. It’s everything, we’re showing our customers that food is at the heart of Tesco Ireland in a way that’s bold, emotional and unmistakably Irish. We have always communicated to customers that Tesco goes above and beyond to ensure we have the best quality products at the best value. In the coming months and years, we want to deepen our connection with the customer on the topic of food. Beyond just the intrinsic quality of food, we want to share our point of view on the power of food in our lives with our customers and to offer them real help to unlock food’s potential. The three foodies will help us bring this to life – sharing stories, sparking ideas and celebrating the everyday magic of food with our customers.”

Tesco Ireland Commercial Director, Joe Manning, added: "At Tesco, food has always been at the heart of our business – from the €1.6 billion we invest annually with Irish suppliers, to the quality and value we bring to customers every day. This new platform allows us to celebrate food in all its forms, while also shining a light on the producers, growers and innovators who make Ireland’s food culture so unique.”
