Tesco Ireland partners with Street Feast for the next three years to support and strengthen communities across the nation

Posted on: 01 Apr 2026

This year marks the beginning of a new chapter as Tesco Ireland steps in as Street Feast’s partner for the next three years.

Street Feast, Ireland’s national weekend of community lunches and gatherings, returns on Saturday and Sunday, May 23rd and 24th 2026. Now in its 16th year, the national weekend has grown into something simple but powerful; a chance for neighbours to come together in a way that makes everyday life feel a little warmer and more connected.

Tesco is encouraging people not only to sign up, but to help neighbours, friends and community groups register and get involved. As the title sponsor, Tesco is committed to supporting and strengthening communities across Ireland, recognising the role food has to bringing people together.

With Tesco’s support, Street Feast is aiming high, with an ambition to grow participation from 962 neighbourhoods last year to 1,200 feasts in 2026, helping thousands more people come together across the country.

Anyone who registers at StreetFeast.ie will get a free party pack delivered to their door, stocked with bunting, posters, invitations and a DIY guide. There’s also the option to collect a pack from one of 20 participating Tesco stores. These Tesco packs come with all the standard goodies, along with Tesco sample favourites for the table, street chalk and simple games to help bring neighbours together.

In line with Tesco’s commitment to helpfulness, the packs - along with recipes, ideas and tips - are designed to take the stress out of organising and make hosting feel achievable for everyone.

Sam Bishop, CoFounder and CEO of Street Feast, said: “Street Feast is all about gathering with your neighbours over delicious food. Now in its sixteenth year, Street Feasts have taken place in gardens, laneways, local parks and community centres. Each Feast is made special by the neighbours who come together to organise a simple gathering.

This year, we're delighted to be partnering with Tesco to help bring more communities together over a potluck meal.  Street Feast and Tesco share the same values around community, food, and connection. By working together, we can help to support more neighbourhood gatherings across Ireland this summer. We’re excited to see how this partnership will help to bring Street Feast to the next level of social impact in communities across Ireland.”

Katie Cunningham, Head of Brand Marketing at Tesco Ireland, said:

“At Tesco, we believe that food has a unique way of bringing people together and that’s why we’re so proud to partner with Street Feast for the next three years. This partnership is about supporting communities in a practical and meaningful way, making it easier for neighbours to connect, share and celebrate together. Street Feast has already had an incredible impact across Ireland, and we’re excited to help grow that even further by reaching more neighbourhoods and enabling more people to take part in 2026 and beyond.”
