30 jobs to be created upon opening in 2024
Aldi Ireland will shortly submit a planning application to Limerick County Council for a new €7M store located in Moyross, Co. Limerick.
Aldi is aiming to open the store in mid 2024, creating up to 30 permanent jobs, while up to 50 jobs will be supported during the construction period.
Once open, the 1315sqm store will feature Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh layout. The new store will create 30 new permanent jobs, with up to 50 jobs being supported during the construction period. There will be 117 car parking spaces available for customers and 10 bike parking spaces. Aldi will also be investing in the future of Moyross through the provision of four free-to-use electric vehicle charging points, while the store will be powered by 100% green electricity and will feature 90sqm of solar panels on the roof.
Commenting, Colin Breslin, Regional Managing Director, Aldi Ireland said: “We’re delighted to submit our plans for a store in Moyross and to commit to further investment in Co. Limerick.”
“The new store will provide even further opportunities for local food and drink producers to work with Aldi. Last year alone we sourced €9.5 million of locally produced food and drink from Co. Limerick based suppliers.”
Earlier this year, Aldi was granted final planning permission by An Bord Pleanála to open its fourth store in Co. Limerick on Roches St, Limerick City, which is set to open in mid-2023.
To date, Aldi’s Limerick stores have donated over 41,000 meals to local charities through FoodCloud, saving the charities nearly €52,000. Each store is also part of Aldi’s Community Grants network, with Limerick Animal Welfare, Butterfly Club and ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services some of the many local charities that have availed of the €500 bursary grant in recent years.
