600km 'Tour de Grocer' charity cycle to raise money for Irish Grocer's Benevolent Fund

From Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th June, Irish Grocer's Benevolent Fund (IGBF) President of Appeals, Mr. Kevin Keating, will proudly cycle 600 kilometres over four days to raise much needed funds for the organisation. The average cycle speed will be 25 kilometres per hour.

 

The president is asking companies to join primary sponsor Barilla Pasta and donate €2.50 per kilometre cycled, or to give a donation of their choice. Mr. Keating expects to raise a total of €1,500 for his part in the endeavor the endeavor. Companies will also be given the option for employees to participate in all or part of the cycle.

 

Participation will be limited to 20 people per day for Days One to Three, with a capacity of 30 people on Day Four. Participants will receive an IGBF cycle jersey and a back-up support vehicle will be provided by RAYC sports.

 

There will be a charge of €2,000 to take part in the full event, which includes three nights dinner and bed and breakfast. Entrants can also opt to take part in a single day of the tour for €750.00. Those joining on the Saturday will get the opportunity to cycle alongside Irish cycling legend Seán Kelly.
