ALDI Ireland has today reopened its store in Tullow following a €1.3 million store upgrade and expansion.
The newly refurbished store includes a number of features from ALDI’s award-winning Project Fresh layout, designed for an enhanced customer experience.
The Refreshed Tullow Store
The refurbished Tullow store now boasts wide aisles and high spec fixtures and fittings.
The Tullow store also features six self-service checkouts and an in-store bakery to make shopping even more efficient and enjoyable for shoppers.
ALDI Tullow’s customer-focused layout provides simplicity, quality and an even better shopping experience, allowing customers to easily find the products they know and love while discovering new ranges.
Next year, the store will mark 20 years in operation. Since opening in February 2007, ALDI Tullow has become an essential part of the retail fabric of the town and now employs 21 full-time staff.

ALDI in Carlow
ALDI operates four stores within the Carlow region, employing more than 100 full-time staff across the county. However, ALDI support to the county stretches beyond its own stores. In 2025 alone, ALDI spent almost €627,000 with local supplier partnerships in Carlow and welcomed nearly 1.4 million customers through its network of stores across the county.
Sustainability & Community Support
Since the launch of the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in February 2024, ALDI customers in Carlow have returned over 22 million drink containers, generating more than €3.7 million in refunds. Customers at the Tullow store also have the option to donate their deposit directly to Barnardos, ALDI’s long- standing charity partner.
Through ALDI’s partnership with FoodCloud, ALDI has also donated almost 10,500 meals to local Carlow charities and community groups this year, reflecting its ongoing commitment to sustainability and community wellbeing.
