Food Drink Ireland (FDI), the Ibec group that represents the food and drink sector, today announced Kevin Donnelly, Managing Director, Britvic Ireland, as the new Chair of the Prepared Consumer Foods (PCF) Council. He will be joined by a new Vice-Chair, Andrew Shaw, Country Manager for Nestlé Ireland.

Linda Stuart-Trainor, Director of Prepared Consumer Foods in FDI, stated: “I am delighted to welcome Kevin Donnelly as Chair of the Prepared Consumer Foods Council. Kevin is a recognised industry leader, with a wealth of experience in FMCG. Together with Andrew Shaw, the incoming PCF Vice-Chair, he will bring a renewed energy to the PCF Council at a time when the sector has the potential to play a leadership role in the move towards sustainable practices, offering greater consumer choice and providing exciting employee opportunities.”

Commenting on his appointment, incoming Chair of the PCF Council Kevin Donnelly, Managing Director of Britvic Ireland, said: “It is a pleasure to take up this role at a time of significant change and challenge, economically and politically. Since the onset of Covid-19, the PCF sector stepped up to the challenge of ensuring shops and homes stayed stocked with essential goods. As we look to the future, the focus of the PCF Council will be on the big sectoral issues – Brexit, Covid-19 impact and Sustainability.  I look forward to working with Andrew and the PCF members to create a more favourable and sustainable environment for the Irish prepared consumer foods sector to improve its competitiveness in domestic and export markets.”

The Prepared Consumer Foods sector employs over 22,000 people across 500 manufacturing facilities in all regions of Ireland. It has a gross output of €4.9 billion, over half of which is exported.
