NATIONWIDE DEAL WITH AN POST KICKSTARTS AGILE RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Davis Virtual Events Agency, one of Ireland’s leading Event Management companies, today announces a nationwide deal with An Post, kickstarting its innovative response to the current Covid-19 crisis.  By deploying a quick business pivoting strategy to meet new demands from clients, government, local authorities and global businesses, Davis Virtual Events Agency has created HanSan, a simple mobile hand cleansing unit that effectively delivers hand sanitiser without the need to touch anything with your hands. Today’s announcement celebrates the successful installation of HanSan at the GPO Dublin with the rollout of 45 units at Post Offices nationwide over the coming weeks.

With no requirement for water, power or waste, HanSan simply operates by foot pump. The unit is mobile, independent, robust, easy and safe to install anywhere, indoors and outdoors, such as retail spaces, public buildings, in parks, on streets and inside venues. The unit comes in a range of sizes to suit all needs and the messages on the units can be fully branded or altered over time as new information becomes available.

Award-winning Davis Events Agency has many global technology clients including Google, Dropbox and Zendesk, government agencies including HSE and is well known for managing some of the country’s major outdoor and sporting events, brand activations and conferences including Culture Night and the Cork City Marathon. Paul Davis, CEO, Davis Events, talks about adapting their business model and driving further virtual brand innovation in the pandemic:

“With the uncertainty of the current Covid-19 pandemic we have been working with our clients to find creative and innovative solutions. We established an Innovation Lab with clients, suppliers and our team to use and pool existing resources to find solutions to new problems. Our number one priority is the safety of our clients, staff and the public, therefore we have developed new ways to help businesses and organisations create a safe environment for their staff, customers and event attendees.  Social distancing measures will be with us for some time and given the nature of what we do, we have an invaluable creative and innovative team which has allowed us to use our talents and adapt our problem-solving skillsets to bring an innovative response to market. We spoke with and listened to our clients and industry friends and as a result we pivoted from our day to day live events and brand activations to develop new business streams, including Virtual and Hybrid Events, Online Experiential Services and the creation of HanSan, a very simple easy to use unit that is mobile, freestanding with no reliance on water, waste or power and most importantly eliminates the need for users ‘hands’. We are also working on technologies to add sensors, service app and scanning to HanSan in the future for those clients that may require more advanced units. These will be especially helpful as restrictions are relaxed. We installed our first prototype in the GPO and through the success of this we are delighted to agree a nationwide rollout with An Post to install 45 units at Post Offices nationwide, several of which are being installed this week with the rest to follow over the coming weeks. We are in talks with global businesses, local authorities, government bodies and departments and well-known brands to see how HanSan can assist them now and into the future.”

Garry Doyle, An Post Network Transformation Director (Retail) says:

“As Ireland’s most extensive retail and financial services network we are very conscious of our duty of care to our staff and our customers. We were delighted to be able to work with Davis Virtual Events to come up with an innovative way of creating a safe space for our customers to do their business.”

In addition to the creation of HanSan, Davis Virtual Events Agency’s pivoting strategy also includes the development of Creative Virtual and Hybrid Events, engaging audiences and employees and overcoming the technology barrier when hosting online events. Working with theatre companies and TV directors to amplify the impact of Virtual and Hybrid Events for clients, Davis Virtual Events Agency are taking an experiential approach to focus on people, experiences and human connections.
