Lidl Ireland has won the World's Best Grass-Fed Ribeye award at the World Steak Challenge in Amsterdam. The award-winning steak is exclusively available to Lidl customers and will be available in all stores nationwide from September 28th. The award winning Grass-Fed Ribeye comes from Waterford based Dawn Meats. Lidl Ireland and their suppliers, Dawn Meats and Liffey Meats, have also secured a further 17 medals for their steak range at the awards, making Lidl the most awarded supermarket retailer in Ireland.

The World Steak Challenge, launched in 2015, is the ultimate benchmark for steak producers worldwide. This year’s judging panel, composed of more than 60 international experts, assessed entries on both raw and cooked criteria. The awards support world-class steak production on a global platform, giving steak producers from across the world a unique opportunity to benchmark product quality, breed credentials and processing standards on the international stage. The awards are organised by William Reed Business Media, the publisher behind the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
