Lidl Ireland today confirmed that its redeveloped store on Pottery Road, Dun Laoghaire, will officially open its doors at 8am on Thursday 10th September.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new state-of-the-art store will be attended by Dublin ladies Gaelic football captain Carla Rowe to officially open the doors. To celebrate the opening, Lidl will be offering fantastic opening day deals, and the first ten shoppers through the doors will receive complementary €20 Lidl gift vouchers to redeem in-store.
The redeveloped Pottery Road store represents a major €8 million investment by the retailer. This extensive project, which focused on the extension and refurbishment of the existing site, has delivered a completely modernised, spacious retail space that will significantly enhance the local shopping experience.
The expansion is also a significant boost for local employment, supporting numerous construction jobs during the development phase and securing 24 new permanent jobs for the local area.
Featuring a spacious sales floor of 1,600 sq.m, customers will soon be able to enjoy a premier shopping experience in the modernised store, including self-checkouts, an in-store bakery offering fresh baked goods daily, and customer restrooms. Sustainability and biodiversity are central to the development, which features an outstanding A-energy rating. The store incorporates high-performing energy-efficient technologies, rooftop solar PV panels, and electric vehicle (EV) charging points in the spacious car park to support sustainable transport options for customers and staff.
Speaking ahead of the ribbon-cutting, Dublin LGFA captain Carla Rowe said:
