Tesco and Glenpatrick Spring Water team up for Temple Street

Posted on: 27 Jul 2020

20cent from every 10 pack of Slievenamon kids water purchased will go towards Temple Street

Tesco Ireland and Glenpatrick Spring Water have teamed up to raise much-needed funds for Temple Street Foundation. From this week, 20cent from every 10 pack of Tesco Slievenamon kids water purchased in stores or online will be put towards the purchase of life-saving equipment for CHI at Temple Street.

Tesco is encouraging store and online shoppers who are adding bottles of water to their basket to add the Slievenamon kids’ water 10 pack as a percentage of the cost will go towards a fantastic cause. Each year, 150,000 children visit CHI at Temple Street and many of those experience extended stays at the hospital. For thousands of children, Temple Street is the only hospital in Ireland in which they can be treated. To date, through its five-year partnership, Tesco Ireland has raised €5 million in fundraising which has assisted the purchase of 270 pieces of vital medical equipment for patients including ultrasound scanners, patient monitors and respiratory equipment.

Denise Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Temple Street Foundation, which is part of the Children's Health Foundation family said, "We are immensely grateful to Tesco Ireland and Glenpatrick Spring Water for their support with this fantastic initiative, which will provide urgent and vital funding that will go to support sick children and their families in CHI at Temple Street. We are privileged to work with Tesco as their charity partner and over the past five years, the positive difference that their support has made - and continues to make - in our special hospital is transformative. We hope that Tesco customers across the country will support this wonderful fundraiser that will help us continue to fund life-saving equipment, services and ground-breaking research for sick children all over Ireland."

Richard Wood, Category Director, Tesco Ireland, added: “We’re very proud of our partnership with Temple Street, and we’re always looking at ways in which we can make little helps towards vital fundraising. Partnering with Glenpatrick for this on-pack donation will help raise much-needed funds to purchase further equipment for the hospital. We would encourage customers to choose the Slievenamon kids’ water 10 pack to help support the little heroes of Temple Street.”

Tesco Slievenamon Kids water 10 pack (10x 250ml) costs €2.95 and is available from Tesco stores nationwide and online at Tesco.ie. 20cent from every pack will go towards purchasing equipment for the hospital.

Temple Street Foundation has been Tesco Ireland’s charity partner since October 2014 and to-date, through the generosity of customers and colleagues, has raised €5 million and counting, in aid of the little heroes of Temple Street.
